Kindergarten and school will soon start a new season, and it is therefore high time to order name tags. All children’s clothing and other belongings should be marked to avoid loss and confusion with the other children’s belongings. As examples of things that should be labeled we can mention: socks, t-shirts, sweaters, pants, jackets, lunch box, drink containers, backpack, shoes, sandals, gym clothes, teats, heat carpets, etc. etc.

Name labels has multiple areas of usage
Name labels are mostly used in the kindergarten, SFO and school – and it’s a good idea, but there are many other uses. Pretty much anything of noteworthy value (money or affection) should be labeled with your name, and preferably phone number in case a stranger might find a lost item.
Labeling your wallet, cell phone, computer, camera, memory stick, bicycles, pedal cars, toys, etc. will increase the probability that the lost item will be returned by a honest finder.
But it is equally important to label things that you lend to friends and acquaintances. Examples of things you should label are your DVD collection, CD collection, your tools, books, magazines and children’s toys (and your ..?). Then you can be sure that those who have borrowed your items know who they borrowed it off and make sure it is returned.
Content on name tags in the kindergarten
In kindergarten, it is likely that items will be confused or misplaced. It is rarely total strangers who find your assets here. It is therefore usually enough to label the child’s clothes and assets with first name and / or last name (and maybe department). Phone number is not necessary in this context. What we do advise our customers to include on name labels for use in kindergarten is an icon. Choose a theme to which the child has a relationship with. This makes it possible for children to recognize their own thing before he / she has learned to read – Smart!
Content on name labels for use at home
All families should have a set of name labels for labeling of family assets that are not always located within the four walls of the home. A ‘universal’ name label for the entire family should at least contain family name and telephone number. Feel free to add address as well. Allthough, remember that much text combined with an icon means that the text will become smaller. Therefore, choose either to have family name, telephone number and icon, or omit the icon and include the address, too.

You may have asked yourself why you can’t just use a permanent mark pen?
Mark pens is all well and good, but the pen color is not necessarily very visible on the garment or item that is marked. Dark pen on dark surfaces works poorly. Moreover, the ink is rarely very durable and will soon wear off. Name labels also provide the opportunity to add a great motif. Motif allow children to recognize their belongings before they have learned to read
Last, not everyone has equally beautiful handwriting – especially in this “age of the keyboard”. Then it’s nice to have labels with clear machine print avaible!
